A Child Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by Terrorists in Kawkareik Township of Kayin State

Terrorists committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 27 March 2025 at 8:00 AM, a faction of KNU members supporting terrorism, alongside the KKO (Split) group and so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons into Kawkareik Township of Kayin State. The heavy weapon shells exploded within No.3 Ward in Kawkareik Township. As a result, Mg Aung Htut Ko (seven years old), a resident of the ward, sustained shrapnel injuries and was transported to Hpa-an District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are injured or killed. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
