In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 15 January 2025 at 9:30 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead near Boe Htaunk Village in Kyonpyaw Township of Ayeyawady Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Nyaung Pin Seik Village Tract Administrator U Myint Thaung (49 years old), a resident of Kyan La Har Village in Kyonpyaw Township. The investigation revealed that the victim was travelling by motorcycle to Kyonpyaw Township. When he passed near the Basic Education Primary School in Boe Htaunk Village, two so-called PDF terrorists opened fire on him. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 10:45 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead near Kyawl Na Pher Village in Singaing Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Tun Naing Oo (52 years old), a resident of Mee Thway Boke Village in Singaing Township. The investigation revealed that the victim was travelling by motorcycle to Kyawl Na Pher Village. When he reached near Kyawl Na Pher Village, a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on him. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of administrative official and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
