In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 9 February 2025 at 7:30 AM, a report stated that two men were shot dead in Than Bo Village, Taungtha Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Thar Cho (59 years old), a 100-household elder and his son, U Aung Paing (32 years old), both residents of the village. While the victims were at their house, eight so-called PDF terrorists arriving by five motorcycles and opened fire on them. As a result, the victims died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 10:00 AM, a report stated that a man was stabbed to death near Kine Taw Gyi Village, Minbu Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Than Soe Aung (48 years old), a resident of No.2 Ward in Saku Town, Minbu Township. While travelling to Kine Taw Gyi Village, he was stabbed to death by a so-called PDF terrorist faction near the village. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 12:15 PM, a report stated that a woman was shot dead in Myin Tin Ward, Salin Township. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Daw Han Su Yin (42 years old), a resident of Paung Nar Ward in Salin Township. While the victim was at the “Shwe Lin Yone” rice sell and buy shop in Myin Tin Ward, two so-called PDF terrorists arriving by a motorcycle and opened fire on her. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of administrative official and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
