Terrorist groups are carrying out acts of sabotage, including planting and detonating mines to destroy roads and bridges, with the intention of disrupting administrative mechanisms and severing transportation links within the region.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 31 January 2025 at 6:15 AM, a report stated that Bridge No. (1/11), located between mileposts 10/1 and 10/2 on the Bilin-Natkyi-Pharpon road near Yin Ohn Village, Bilin Township, was destroyed in a mine explosion carried out by a faction of KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists. Security personnel arrived to investigate the incident and discovered that the 50 foot long, 24 foot wide and 12 foot high reinforced concrete bridge over a border stream was severely damaged. Approximately 30 feet of the bridge deck collapsed and the railings were destroyed, rendering the bridge impassable for vehicles, it is reported.
Responsiable authorities are currently working to repair the bridge and restore transportation services. Additionally, security personnel are taking necessary measures to apprehend the terrorists responsible for the destruction of this public infrastructure, which is vital for local communities, it is reported.
