In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 28 January 2025 at 12:00 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead near Myaung Village in Oakpho Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Thint Naing Tun (35 years old), a resident of Tha Phan Pin Seik Village in Oakpho Township. While the victim was returning home from Myaung Village on his motorcycle, four so-called PDF terrorists, who were waiting for him, opened fire on him on the Commutable Road between Nhaw Kone Village and Tha Phan Pin Seik Village. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 1:30 PM, a report stated that a man with gunshot injuries was admitted to the Dawei Township Public Hospital of Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Thaung Yu (58 years old), a resident of Kha Khway Ward in Lounglon Township. While the victim was travelling in a vehicle from Ta Line Taung Village to Lounglon Town, a so-called PDF terrorist faction opened fire on him near Thar Yar Kone Village resulting in his injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 3:15 PM, a report stated that two men and two women were shot dead near Nga Nan Village in Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Myat Thu Aung (32 years old), U Thein Htawy (30 years old), Daw Kyu (50 years old) and Daw Ei Ei Phyo (30 years old), a junior assistant teacher at the Basic Education Primary School in Sone Ywar Village, all residents of Sone Ywar Village in Myingyan Township. While the victims were travelling on a three-wheeled motorcycle from Semekhon Village to Sone Ywar Village, six so-called PDF terrorists opened fire on them on the Semekhon-Nga Nan-Sone Ywar Village Commutable Road near Nga Nan Village. As a result, all the victims died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of civil servant and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
