In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 10 March 2025 at 6:15 AM, a report stated that two men were shot dead in Ka Lot Thot Village, Mudon Township of Mon State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that Ko Mon Htaine (25 years old) a resident of Ka Lot Thot Village, and Ko Zaw Htet (aka) Ka Lan (25 years old) a resident of Kawt Pi Htaw Village, were heading to a rubber plantation near Ka Lot Thot Village on a motorcycle. When they reached the roadside of a football field at the village entrance, four individuals from the New Mon State Party (Split) Group and so-called PDF terrorists, arriving by two motorcycles, opened fire on them. As a result, both victims died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 8:00 AM, U Than Zaw Oo (38 years old) Deputy Administrator at the Kyaukpadaung Township General Administration Department Office and resident of Aung Min Galar Ward in Kyaukpadaung Township of Mandalay Region, was at his agricultural farm, approximately two furlongs west of Myaing Thar Yar Village. He was accompanied by U Myo Ko Ko, a clerk at the office; U Maung Win, a guard at the office; U Sein Aung Min, a resident of Myaing Thar Yar Village; U Myo Min Htet, a resident of Thal Pin Tal Village and U San Win, a resident of Aung Min Galar Ward. While they were at the farm, six so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on U Than Zaw Oo. As a result, U Than Zaw Oo died on the spot. Additionally, the terrorists robbed two cars parked on the farm before fleeing, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and the assassinations of civil servant and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
