Terrorists committing inhuman acts have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the residential areas, including towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 17 April 2025 at 8:00 AM, a faction of pro-terrorism KNU members, along with so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons into Tha Yet Taw Village in Kawkareik Township of Kayin State. The shells exploded within the village. As a result, Ma Su Su Thein (16 years old) and Ma Nyi Nyi Chan (seven years old), both residents of the village, sustained shrapnel injuries. They are currently receiving medical treatment at Mawlamyine Public Hospital, it is reported.
Similarly, at 4:20 PM, a report stated that two children with shrapnel injuries were admitted to the Hpa-an Township Public Hospital of Kayin State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victims were identified as Ma Phyo Phyo Aye (12 years old) and Mg Thet Tun Naing (eight years old), both residents of (Local name) Nyi Nyar Thar Lin Village in Kyon Doe Town, Kawkareik Township. The incident occurred when a faction of pro-terrorism KNU members, along with so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons into the victims’ village. The shells exploded within the village, causing their injuries, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, children have been injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
