In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 3 January 2025 at 10:05 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Gant Gaw Pin Village, Minhla Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Kyi Shwe (aka) U Aye Shwe (75 years old), a resident of the village. The incident occurred that while the victim was travelling on his motorcycle to Oak Twin Village. Two so-called PDF terrorists opened fire on him on the outskirts of Gant Gaw Pin Village. As a result, the victim died on the spot. Additionally, the terrorists took his motorcycle, it is reported.
Similarly, at 2:25 PM, a report stated that the dead body of a man with gunshot injuries had been brought to Sagaing Township Public Hospital in Sagaing Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Village Administrator U Hwlan Moe Naing (40 years old), a resident of Nyaung Pin Sin Village. The incident occurred that while the victim was travelling in his Toyota AD-Van vehicle (License Plate No. MDY-13 2L/XXXX) to Sagaing Town. Eight so-called PDF terrorists opened fire on him on the outskirts of his village. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of innocent civilian and administrative official in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
