Innocent Civilian Injured in Attack by Terrorist Faction in Myaungmya Township of Ayeyawady Region

In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 4 May 2025 at 2:45 AM, a report stated that a woman was injured by gunfire in Kyar Kwin Village, Myaungmya Township of Ayeyawady Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene to conduct further investigation, they found that the incident occurred while Village Administrator U Man Shwe Thaung (53 years old) and his wife, Daw Aye Aye Kyaing (44 years old), were at their house, four terrorists arrived and opened fire on them. As a result, Daw Aye Aye Kyaing sustained gunshot wounds. Additionally, the terrorists robbed 100,000,000 MMK in cash and two mobile phones before fleeing. The injured woman was transported to Myaungmya Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
