Innocent Civilians Killed and Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack on Village by Terrorists

Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 20 December 2024 at 11:00 AM, a report stated that a deceased man and an injured woman with shrapnel wounds had been brought to the Township Public Hospital in Kyaikto Township of Mon State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Myo Hlaing Win (31 years old) and Daw Kyu Kyu Soe (31 years old), both residents of Win Kalaw Village in Kyaikto Township. The incident occurred when a group of KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapon into the victims’ village. One of the shells exploded within the village resulting in the death of U Myo Hlaing Win on the spot, while Daw Kyu Kyu Soe sustained shrapnel injuries, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are killed and injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
