In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such as, on 2 June 2025 at 3:30 PM, a Local Public Militia unit were providing security for civilians farming in a field located about 400 meters north of Kokko Su Village in Pauk Township of Magway Region. At that time, approximately 30 so-called PDF terrorists attacked them with small arms. The Local Public Militia returned fire, and the terrorist group retreated to Lal Bal (South) Village, approximately two miles southwest of the village. During the incident, U Aung Kying (43 years old), a Local Public Militia member and Mg Sai (14 years old), both residents of the village, were killed on the spot. Additionally, U Chein O (52 years old), sustained gunshot wounds. He is currently receiving medical treatment in the village, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
