Terrorist groups are committing inhumane acts with the intent to disrupt the education system, which is dedicated to improving and advancing children's learning. These acts include the destruction of school textbooks and stationery, the intimidation and abduction of education staff and students, targeted killings, the planting of explosive devices to destroy educational buildings and sending threatening letters to the teachers.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 30 June 2025 at 1:00 PM, a report stated that a threatening letter was found in front of the Basic Education Post Primary School in Ma Kyi Taw Village, Ye-U Township of Sagaing Region. Upon further investigation, security personnel discovered an improved explosive device (IED), along with a motorcycle’s battery, a keypad phone and a paper composing of threatening texts near the school’s entrance door. Security personnel safely cleared the items. The school currently has five teachers and 41 students, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
