In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 25 December 2024 at 4:30 PM, a report stated that an explosion occurred near Hti Yi Village in Nyaung Shwe Township of Southern Shan State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that U Hla Win (42 years old) and his son, Mg Than Aung (18 years old), both residents of the village, were on their way to a farm on the outskirts of the village. Upon reaching a location near the farm, they triggered an explosive device planted by a terrorist group. As a result, U Hla Win died on the spot, while Mg Than Aung sustained shrapnel injuries and was transported to No. 2 Battlefield Medical Battalion for medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
