Village Administrator Killed, Innocent Civilian Sustains Gunshot Wounds in Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Minhla Township of Bago Region

In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 26 April 2025 at 6:25 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead and another was injured by gunfire near Kant Lant Kone Village in Minhla Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as Village Administrator U Soe Win (52 years old) and Ko Hmine Wai (aka) Aung Ko Lat (37 years old), both residents of Ah Lal Kone Village in Minhla Township. They were returning on a motorcycle from Hlegu Village to their village. Upon reaching the vicinity of Kant Lant Kone Village, a so-called PDF terrorist faction opened fire on them. As a result, U Soe Win died on the spot, while Ko Hmine Wai (aka) Aung Ko Lat sustained gunshot injuries. The deceased and injured individuals were transported to Min Hla Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killing and shooting the administrative official and the civilian in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
