In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 6 May 2025 at 6:45 PM, a report stated that the bodies of three men with gunshot wounds were brought to the Palaw Township Public Hospital of Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victims were identified as Ward Administrator U Kyaw Thura (50 years old), a resident of No.1 Ward in Pala Town, Palaw Township. U Tin Zaw Moe (aka) Ka Lar (50 years old), U Than Naing (aka) Bwar Kam (42 years old), both residents of No.2 Ward in Palaw Town. According to the report, the three victims were at the house of U San Win in No.2 Ward when three so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on them. As a result, all three men died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
